What is Beer on the Common? Beer on the Common is run by Sambrook’s Brewery in Battersea and is a fun event for all the family to celebrate our birthday. Focussed around a fabulous selection of beers, we have great music, kids’ activities, a Virtual Reality experience and a selection of street food. There is something for everyone and certainly our guests won’t leave disappointed, just check out our video from 2016.
What is the event timings? Beer on the Common opens at 12 noon on Saturday 9th September and closes at 10pm. Music and last orders at the bar will be at 9.30pm.
Where is Beer on the Common? We are holding Beer on the Common on Tooting Common. The site is located on the Western end of Tooting Common, near the corner of Dr Johnson Ave and Tooting Bec Rd. The nearest tube stops are Tooting Bec and Streatham and the event entrance is just off Dr Johnson’s Avenue about 10 minutes’ walk from each tube station and will be well signposted.

By public transport you can arrive via:
- TRAIN: Balham Rail Station (20 min walk) or Streatham Hill Rail Station (25 min walk)
- TUBE: (Underground): Tooting Bec Tube Station (10 min walk)
- BUS: you can catch the 249 between Clapham Junction and Anerley or the 319 that runs between Sloane Square and Streatham.
How much does it cost? Early bird tickets are available via Eventbrite until the end of July priced at £5. From August tickets on Eventbrite will be priced at £12 per day. Tickets will be available on the gate priced at the full rate of £15 per day. Under 18’s will not be charged an entry fee to the festival but must be accompanied by an adult.
How do I buy tickets? You can buy tickets on the day at full price or discounted tickets through Eventbrite beforehand
Are children invited? Absolutely, and kids under the age of 18 get free entry. Our festival is a fun festival for the whole family and there will be a selection of children’s activities during the day including inflatables, face painting a virtual reality experience and a selection of lawn games.
Can I bring my dog? Absolutely, we are a dog friendly event and encourage all well-behaved dogs on leads, to join the fun with us!
What is the beer selection? We will publish our beer list 2 weeks before the event. Our beer sommelier has carefully selected beers from a range of breweries around the country and we will have over 70 different beers available to try on the day. We only have a limited supply of each beer on the day, so if there is something particular to try, please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
I don’t like beer what else is there? Sambrook’s Brewery is based in Battersea and Beer on the Common is our annual birthday celebration, but there is plenty for those that don’t like beer. We have Cider and PIMMS alcoholic drinks, a selection of non-alcoholic soft drinks and plenty of tea and coffee. With our great line up of music and activities through the day there is plenty to enjoy for those that don’t want to drink beer.

Can I bring a picnic? Outside food and drink will not be allowed to be bought in to the festival. There will be a large selection of food available to purchase at the festival. We reserve the right to run bag checks on entry to the site.
Can I cycle to the event? There are no specific bike stands at the festival but bike stands are situated around Tooting Common.
Drinking Alcohol Responsibly – We encourage everyone to enjoy the day and drink responsibly. Our staff will be running a challenge 25 policy during the day so if you are lucky enough to look younger than 25 please bring some ID with you and don be offended if you are asked for ID during the event.
